Skyy and Esther reimagine Joo Chiat Road through EXTRA NOODLES’ signature imperfect hand-drawn style, sketching the heritage shophouses, roads, and street signs of Joo Chiat alongside the EXTRA NOODLES street sign signature. Layered onto this reinterpretation is Eunice’s celebrated mural Radiance 鳳凰來義, her majestic phoenixes and traditional lantern no longer confined to the walls, but onto the roads,
Radiance 鳳凰來義 is a real mural painted by Eunice on the walls of Joo Chiat in contemporary Singapore. By shifting this public artwork onto EXTRA NOODLES’ signature drop-shoulder tee, the design transforms muralism into wearable storytelling. The phoenix, a symbol of cultural resilience and continuity, represents the enduring preservation of heritage regardless of how the roads of modern life evolve.
What makes this Artist Exclusive edition truly special is the addition of authentic paint splatter textures, directly recreated from the real paint stains found on Eunice’s own garments worn during the creation of her large-scale mural works. These marks are not decorative additions, but genuine reflections of the mural-making process itself.
